WMSCs Lepine Siblings on the Podium

On a course designed by Kelsey Serwa, the reigning ski cross world champion, Robert Lepine was first and second in the men’s Big White Ski Cross Nor Am races earlier in March and according to unofficial results Lepine took the lead by 3 points in Nor-Am Cup standings at Big White Ski Resort, in Kelowna, B.C.
“That's really exciting actually,” said Lepine, when he learned he was leading. “But I have to not gloat over it I guess because I have to still race the rest of the races.”
“I had a really good finals start, it was key,” said Lepine of his win Saturday. “I felt really focused, really on top of it. I laid down a really good qualifier, which set me up for really good brackets all the way through and then I had a really good start in the final.
“I'm very happy, very excited by the win.”
Sister, Sarah Lepine, was third and fifth in the women’s races. Her combined results for the season after the Lake Louise Nor-Am enabled her to qualify for the World Juniors Ski Cross Championships in Italy. Also qualifying, but on the Men’s Canadian Junior team, was WMSC’s Tyler Murray.
Other notable WMSC Ski Cross Team results from Big White: Friday, March 2nd: Bryan Cadman 14th, Jack Iles 15th, Tyler Murray 18th. Saturday, March 3rd: Tyler Murray 8th, Bryan Cadman 14th, Jack Iles 17th and Adam Gibson 19th. Results are still pending from the Lake Louise race.
