Summer Camps
2012 Spring, Summer & Fall Camps Schedule
The goal of our spring, summer and fall ski training is to make postive and permanent technical changes in our athletes. WMSC Pro staff and Alpine Canada's "AIM2WIN" development model recommend the following number of days on snow between May to October:
U12 (ages 10-11): 5 days
U14 (ages 12-13): 5-15 days
U16 (ages 14-15): 10-25 days
U18+ (ages 16+): 15-40 days

(Note: WMSC welcomes application from non-club racers in most of our camps provided available space has not been filled at our registration deadline.) For more information, please email info@wmsc.info .
May:
May 18 / 21 - WMSC Spring Super Camp (ALL) - As in past years, taking advantage of our plentiful spring snow and a long weekend (school break) we'll be training technical disciplines (SL and GS) with newly labled age groups (FIS, U16, U14, U12). Cost is $200.
May 18 / 19 - Fitness Testing (ALL) - We'll spread the test up over a couple days so as not to compromise energy levels for on-snow training. As usual we feel it's important to continue with monitoring and measuring athletes growth and maturation to target optimal windows of trainability. We strongly encourage all club members to attend the fitness testing sessions.
June:
Jun 1-3 - Dryland Camp #1 (ALL). Check back for more details.
July: Our Summer Super Camps this year will be a little different from past years. We have booked lane space weekdays through the month of July and will host camps on dates as outlined below. Each session will accomodate U12, U14, U16, FIS and SX age groups with a combination of freeski drills, exercises, brushes, stubby gates - building into full gates.
Don't be fooled by the "basics and fundamentals" tag, as these are essential foundation building sessions, patterned after National Team strategies. Even the best racers in the world will spend many days in slow motion, refining and patterning the building blocks of a great technique before adapting into gates.
"Advanced Tactics and Techniques" sessions are recommended for those with several days of skiing under their belts since April. Timing will be used often for athletes to see instant feedback of speeds as they experiment with new lines and tactics.
Coaches: Ryan Jazic, Jordan Williams, Jeff MacLennan, Rob Boyd and other WMSC coaches TBD. Guest coaches will also be present for a few days through the camps.
Cost: $625 per 5 day block - includes lift ticket, coaching, video (uploaded to your Sprongo account) and afternoon dryland activites.
