Fitness Schedules

2011 / 2012

Welcome to the Whistler Mountain Ski Club’s Dryland Training Schedule page. Dryland training is an essential part of ski racing which helps develop agility, balance, speed, strength, and aerobic capacity. The training sessions are fun, challenging, and always changing. Attendance is strongly encouraged. 

This year there will be no additional dryland cost for club members. All WMSC program athletes are welcome to attend group sessions. For those who are not able to attend our group dryland sessions and for other daily workout programs please see the programs page.

Group Dryland Schedule for Dec - forward:
Whistler Workouts: Monday and Thursdays, Club Cabin gym- 3:30 - 5:00PM. Open to all athletes (Kinders, FIS, SX). Workouts will vary from weights to circuits to running. We'll ensure age appropriate workouts are available for all participants.

Fridays - Whistler High School 5:00 - 6:30PM

Saturdays - FIS at club cabin 3:30 - 5:00. Kinders at Myrtle Phillip School 4:00 - 5:30PM.

Gymnastics - Oros Gymnastics Center (Cheakamus Crossing) Saturdays, 6:15 - 7:15. There is a $12 charge per person for these sessions. Check with your Head Coach for groups and dates. 

Vancouver Workouts: For North Shore athletes or any who are interested in continuing with Level 10 workouts, please contact Steele Jordan at steelejordan@me.com as has is setting up group sessions on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays.

There are no Vancouver workouts planned through the WMSC at this time. However we strongly encourage participation in mid week dryland workouts. Whether with a partner in your home/back yard/school or at a nearby gym. Age specfic programs are available on the programs page.

Some recommendations for good gyms where some other club members workout are as follows. If you have any suggestions or further recommendations please send them to rob@wmsc.info and we will post them as well.

Physical Testing: Thanks to all who participated in the fall sessions. Tough work I know but good to see the number of improvements!! Keep up the dryland, playing games and striving to become a better athlete. The next testing session will be in May 2012.
