Thank you to those that have already volunteered for this historic race! All our racers have had a taste for speed in Kimberley and now it’s time to host a speed race on home ground! As a reminder, the WMSC U16s are the hosts for this historic race series, named after the late Bob Parsons (our own Jim Parsons and Chris Leighton’s father), ski racer, original weasel worker and lover of speed. Bob had a vision that BC ski racers needed to learn how to ski speed in a safe and controlled environment.
As hosts of this race series, we all need to contribute! There are plenty of opportunities for on-hill and off-hill positions – gate judges, course workers, slippers, assistant starters, scoreboard, bib collectors, race office support (preparing race packages), etc. etc. Although we need the bulk of volunteers on Saturday and Sunday (race days), we do need course workers, slippers, assistant starters, equipment checkers and other roles on training days. If your racers are training, please lend a hand on training days as well as race days. If you don’t know what you can do – we can help sort that out too!
