TRAIN TO TRAIN - Our U14 program targets the needs of young athletic skiers. We consider this age group to be in the “Train to Train” phase of their development. Our focus is based on solidifying their ability to earn change through their efforts and experiences in the training and racing sessions.
Our group will be training as one team with each individual racer’s goals in mind. We have a great group of professional coaches who are on top of all aspects of our programs delivery and are able to adapt and deal with any situations that may arise. Our coaches will be engaged with each and every racer throughout the season.
Our competitive schedule is to race in the Coast Zone U14 Races, Provincial Championships, the Westerns, and the Whistler Cup.
Fitness training is a major part of our club’s Athlete’s success. There will be opportunities in Whistler as well as Vancouver.
This program is available for children born in 2005 & 2006. Proof of birthdate required for all new members.
The BC Alpine website http://bcalpine.com/calendar has the U14 race calendar posted.
Program fees do not include the cost of a list pass.
All youth aged athletes are eligible for a “Sea to Sky” Pass from Whistler Blackcomb. Application for this pass is directly through Whistler Blackcomb’s pass sales office and to be eligible, athletes must be registered in a WMSC competitive program at time of purchase. Please note that WMSC must confirm applicants status with WB and does so once a week starting Oct. 1 with an update of our athlete list to their pass sales department.
We encourage all athletes to wear the WMSC club uniform. Pre-orders are done in early March – extra’s are ordered so email email@example.com to get on the list. Used ones can also be found on the club website buy and sell: https://wmsc.info/buysell/ , or at the used swap on Thanksgiving Monday at the ski club cabin.
We recommend that each athlete take out additional insurance coverage. Contact WMSC to purchase ACA SAIP Insurance or your own Insurance agent/broker to obtain additional travel and accident insurance. This insurance is in addition to your provincial heathcare coverage which you are also required maintain. All Foreign racers must have their own Accident and Medical Coverage that must include mountain rescue and return to home country, and supply WMSC with a copy of the policy.
