Henry Yeigh | Train to Compete

FIS Coach

Henry grew up Caledon Ontario and on the shores of Georgian Bay at the family Cottage. Having a father as the Alpine Director at the Caledon Ski Club it is only natural that he clicked into his first pair of skis at the tender age of 2. Spending every second he could on the hill growing up he developed a true love for the sport. After retiring from racing at the age of 17 Henry decided that Coaching was the natural thing to do. Now 25 he had coached at the Caledon Ski Club for 4 years, working with the U14 Performance program. After having great success there he is looking for new challenges on the West (best) coast. Ronan Mac Con

U14 Lead Coach

Born to Irish immigrants that had never seen snow, I am indebted to them for trying skiing as a winter pursuit for the family. Yet another refugee from Ontario and Craigleith ski club, I was bitten by the ski bug hard and it has shaped pretty much all of my life decisions since. I grew up ski racing and when the world cup did not beckon I stayed in the sport by coaching through University and once graduated heeded the call to the mountains out west. I pursued my coach level 2 and progressed through the CSIA to level 4 and am currently a level 3 course conductor. Skiing is truly the greatest sport on earth. I hope to try and instill that love of the sport in your children and I thank you in advance for giving me that opportunity.

After moving back to Vancouver, Jim took a few years off skiing and he was then drawn back into the sport in the late 1990s and has coached ever since. 4 years of this was spent coaching the FIS Vancouver Ski Team and other 9 years was spent coaching K2s at Grouse, Seymour and Cypress.

Jim’s family was one of the early families with the WMSC. Both of his parents were very involved with the club and his sister (Chris Leighton) was the WMSC administrator for 20 years. Alexis Dion

U12 Coach | Learn to Train

My name is Alexis and I am 22 years old. I grew up ski racing on the East Coast and coached for two years in Stoneham, Québec. I started coaching because I wanted to share my passion for skiing and also to help kids develop skills that will lead them to become great skiers, whatever type of skier they want to be. This year is my third winter in Whistler, and I am pretty excited about it. I want to keep shredding and have fun. During summer, I pursue another passion: aviation. I have been leaving and coming back to Whistler a couple of times now. Hopefully, I will find a gig around here during the summers and stick around for a bit.
