The Dave Murray National Training Center on Whistler Mountain’s Ptarmigan Run is prepared to host snow sport teams for training opportunities of all disciplines (SL, GS, SG, DH, SX, Freestyle, and Snowboard). With safety systems, snowmaking, Olympic trained cat operators, the snow and terrain can be prepared to challenge the best as well as cater to basic skills training. Fees

Daily Training Fees
Lane Rentals: SL lane: $350.00 per session. GS lane: $500 per session. AM session 8:30- 11:30am, PM session 11:30-2:30pm. For non‐exclusive training space for BC clubs (ski, freestyle, snowboard, para or other similar snow sports team) a head tax of $30.00 per athlete per block will be assessed. (ie: Joining in with WMSC team or other group training at that time)

  • GST will be added to all fees

Lift Tickets

  •  Carded and active Canadian National Team athletes of Alpine, Snowboard and Freestyle will have complimentary mountain access. This is restricted to NAMED/PUBLISHED members of these teams listed with the Canadian Snowsports Association. (50 National Team/25 National Para‐Alpine Team at any one time)
  • PSO athletes with CWSAA passes will be honored for mountain access
  • All other athletes, registered to train may purchase lift tickets for 50% off the window rate provided DMNTC has received the list of names minimum 7 days prior to training dates
  • Tickets are not inter‐changeable and only valid for registered training days

Lane Information

The training lanes of the Dave Murray National Training Centre can be accessed from the Garbonzo Express Lift. Sections of the course can be booked based on the lane assignments listed below and are prepared to host ski racing teams of all disciplines: SL, GS, SG, DH, SX, Freestyle, and Snowboard. Please reference the maps below and the corresponding table of recommended use.

Booking Policies

  • Training space is available for:
    1. Members of CSA (Canadian Snowsports Association) affiliated Clubs/PSOs/NSOs
    2. Non CSA member clubs/teams must provide a Commercial general liability insurance certificate in an occurrence format in an amount no less than $10,000,000 CDN per occurrence, including the following coverages; contractual liability, advertising injury and personal injury liability, broad form property damage, independent contractors, premises, operations, and volunteers liability.
    3. These policies shall provide primary insurance coverage in the event of any loss or claim relating to the Event.  Whistler Mountain Ski Club, Dave Murray National Training Centre, Vail Resorts, Inc., The Vail Corporation, Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc., Blackcomb Skiing Enterprises Limited Partnership, Whistler Mountain Resort Limited Partnership, each of their affiliated companies and subsidiaries, Her Majesty The Queen In Right Of The Province Of British Columbia shall be named as additional insureds on the commercial general liability policy. 
  • Requests for training space should be submitted to DMNTC manager a minimum of one week in advance of requested dates. Please include athlete and coach names, dates and disciplines with lane and or terrain requests.
  • Licensed Coaches – groups must have at least one licensed coach in good standing with CSCF, CASI, CFSA or international equivalent.
  • A non-refundable deposit of $100 will be due at time of booking.
  • All training opportunities are subject to availability and changing weather / snow surface conditions that may limit or prevent training from being possible. DMNTC reserves the right to postpone and/or cancel training opportunities at any time and for any reason deemed to be in the interest of safety for guests and staff of the centre and Whistler Blackcomb.
